The postcards depicting Robin Hood, Little John, Friar Tuck and Maid Marion, were originally painted in oils by the local artist, David Porter, who carefully researched the type of clothing that would have been worn in medieval times.

The postcard of Robin, Prince of Sherwood Forest was painted originally in oils by local artist, Jan Kostka. Here Robin is seen on horseback riding through Sherwood Forest.

The picture below right shows the presentation of the original oil paintings to the Mayor and Treasurer of the City of Nottingham. The paintings are now on display in the reception area of the City`s Treasury.
